Hi, I am Bolaji Olagunju, Founder of Cracking the “X” Code.
At age 30, I started a professional services business and grew it to a relative sizeable and successful indigenous firm. This is after experiencing several embarrassing and debilitating failures. I guess you can say that I eventually Cracked the “Consulting Business” Code (or at least some of the codes).
After 15 years, I burned out. I was a strong believer that only wimps and lazy people took breaks, so I foolishly worked nonstop until I couldn’t keep going anymore. It was bad. Very bad. Burn out is a horrible. I used to say if God worked for 6 days, who am I not to work for 7 days… I conveniently ignored the “and he rested part”.
In 2018, I stepped down as the CEO of my company… I wanted time without responsibilities or obligations but I struggled. Badly. Between the push back from clients, close relationships that find it impossible to believe I am actually human and can be tired and me not knowing how to relax and recreate, it was a very difficult experience.
After a total of 3 long days of trying not to do anything, I became bored out of my mind. So I took up writing. I had always wanted to be an author, having benefitted from so many amazing authors who I considered my personal mentors, I just had to write a book. Went to work. Learnt all I could about writing and publishing a book. Acquired new mentors. Cracked the “Author” Code and published 3 books in 3 years.
During my sabbatical, I invested disproportionately on the subject of Growth. I became a Growth Coach with focus on Revenue and People Growth. I learnt a lot on what truly works. It was a perception expanding experience.
In early 2023, I decided to get started on one of my life obsession, finding out what truly works through research, interviews, workshops, etc. and helping to share that insights with millions of Africans, hence the birth of Cracking The “X” Code.
