Workforce University’s HR Excellence Bootcamp is as challenging as it is rewarding. Each unit is taught by an industry expert and facilitated (virtually) from 8:45am to 1pm in a true, small group, classroom-style format.

You and your fellow students will complete course training and “mini-projects” as well as participate in group discussions relating the course material to real-life business scenarios.

Those who successfully complete the Bootcamp will, in just 5 weeks, emerge with the skills, knowledge, and “in the trenches” experience that only an HR Strategist can possess.

At the end of 5-weeks, the coursework you’ve completed will all culminate in a final capstone project based on a real-life business scenario. Submission and review of this project is required in order to receive your certificate.

Over 5 weeks, you will master the 5 core competencies that any HR Strategist (or Head of HR) must possess. Mastery of these competencies is truly the difference between just being a specialist in a specific HR discipline and actually holistically understanding Business strategy to be able to sit in a “Head Of” seat. Get ready for the next 5 weeks!

During this session, you will meet your instructor and get to know the other students in the class. We will cover what you can expect from the programme and how to get the most out of your time including grading, participation, and how to achieve your coveted HR Excellence Bootcamp certificate. We will also cover how Business context, stakeholders, technology, new business model etc. are shifting how HR work is designed & performed and the implications for HR Professionals.

Critical Mindset Shifts

One critical factor that separates the very best from the rest especially in the HR profession is how professionals think! High performing HR professional think very differently and in this session, we will be covering several mindset shifts that is essential to become a successful HR Strategist.

Session 1

Define the Strategy

The number one skill an HR Strategist must possess is the ability to create alignment. Alignment with stakeholders, alignment with other departments, alignment with the C-suite, and most importantly, alignment with business objectives. But how? That’s exactly what we’ll cover in week two and give you a template to document and visualize your business strategy.

Develop The Execution Plan

This is where the rubber meets the road. To be an effective HR Strategist, you have to know how to execute. During this week, you’ll be introduced to the 1-Page Strategy plan as well as the concept of Make-or-Break Execution framework. Plus, we’ll give you a checklist to help you effectively manage initiatives and technical HR buildouts, so projects launch on time and on budget.

Build Your Scorecards & Dashboard

We hear it time and time again…”How do I track and improve the ROI of our HR efforts?” That’s exactly what we are going to solve this week. It all starts with a repeatable process to identify key metrics (KPIs), both leading and lagging, that are essential to the success of your business aligned initiatives. From there, you will learn how to turn those metrics into scorecards and dashboard to display the effectiveness of HR initiatives and get real-time insights into results

Session 4

Optimise For Growth

It’s the HR Strategist job to be the first to identify (and triage) failing key metrics and faulty assumptions. Once you know how to diagnose and solve problems, the next level of optimisation is how to optimise and scale “winning practices.” In this session you’ll learn how to effectively manage and re-allocate time and money budgets away from areas of low performance towards areas of high performance.

That’s it! You’re ready to walk into any HR role, in any industry, and immediately drive results. Put the finishing touches on your capstone project so it’s ready to submit for review and receive your certificate of completion.
